I have been researching the Wadley family tree for the last 5 years and feel that I have just scratched the surface of what I can discover. It has been a fascinating journey tracing my ancestors who have all been from the United Kingdom, go their separate ways throughout the Commonwealth, and then mostly complete the circle by returning to the United Kingdom. Some ancestors landed up in South Africa, some in India, Canada, Australia... WHY? What made them pack their bags and start what must have been a treacherous adventure into the "new" world with their families. Was the UK that bad a place to live, or were they driven by money, or was it a religious calling, or were they forced to go?
If you have been included in this work and I have made an error or you would like to contribute, please follow this link. I would also appreciate any photos (recent and old) of you and your family, if you are part of this tree.
Families I have researched:
Wadley Family
The Wadley family has been my main focus. I am Anthony Mansfield Wadley (Tony) and my parents are Brian Mansfield Wadley and Margaret Sheila Sayer. My main source of information has been from family members, the UK census records and the UK General Registry Office for marriage, birth and death certificates. I have amassed a massive archive of photos, newspaper clips, birth certificates etc which I will be happy to share to anyone interested.
Sayer Family
Most of my Sayer family knowledge has been acquired though speaking to my Mother, Margaret Wadley (nee Sayer), from the National Achieves in Kew or from the works of J.P.Sayer.
Jarrad Family
I am married to Rebecca Stephanie Jarrad, and her parents are Mark Julian Donne Jarrad and Rosalind Gay Jarrad (nee Nightingirl). Mark Jarrad has provided me with invaluable family information, as have the UK Census records and UK shipping records.
Nightingirl Family
Most of my information of the Nightingirl family has come from Monica June Nightingirl (nee Montfort Bebb), Mark Jarrad and the UK Census records. |
